Or embodied exercises on the subtle interrelations of weaving.
The exercises are designed as experiments of weaving on a human scale to explore through the bodies the relationships with each other, materials and the process of weaving. Using heavy duty rope in place of fine thread and the participants bodies in place of a traditional loom structure, the embodied exercises make it possible to experience-from-within the subtle interrelations of weaving, thus, highlighting the gestures and values of this crucial craft.
These exercises were part of the workshop “Critical Craft: InterWoven Practices”, a 2-week workshop, initiated by Sam Price and designed & organised together with him and Ela Gök in August 2023 in Istanbul and Kahramanmaraş. The workshop was run in partnership with KAF Kolektiv, Herkes İçin Mimarlık.
